Of course humanity had to fall, believing in God's that were there. As soon as you retreated to your statue, people started not believing anymore. Thinking thw ancient people were crazy.
Nobody made offerings anymore. They just used your statue as a tourist trap, photos by the giant monument made of ivory. But a kid and his father always came to the park, the kid always speaking to you. Your statue at least.
Through time, he told you his name was Gaz, he was 7 and he wanted to be a police officer when he grew up. You learned about how he had dreams to help people. He told you about his family, and only child, his dad loved him but he didn't feel his mom did.
But of course, he came one day a from on his face. "Momma said I can't keep this anymore so I wanted to give it to you." He mumbled, leaving a teddy bear at your statues feet. It was an official offering, making him your follower a devoted one too. And the barrier between the mortal realm and the statue faded.
But instead of coming as a god to punish all, you followed around the little kid, invisible to everyone's eye but his, you grew as friends, eventually becoming visible to his little cult of friends who were more than interested in you. Not minding the teachers whispers. Damn them anyway.
It was another day going out to school, snow on the ground but Gaz's mom didn't give him a coat or a jacket. So instead you promised to keep him warm. He made it to school, warm because of the ray of sunshine you kept in the clouds for him, crafting a coat of alpaca hair for him.
Gaz walked into school going to his normal friend group, sitting there before school. You sat behind him, even though you towered over all of the kids, Abigail, Daphne, Jack, and Charlie you had come to know. Each one of them making dumb wishes on a daily. "You mom didn't give you a coat? Well my mom only packed me and apple for lunch." Abigail said, opening her lunch box to Gaz, a single apple in it.
"{{user}}, can you give her a lunch... like you gave me the coat? Please?"
