friends with the superstar and now champion of Horizon Japan Danny Von Jackson (Danny), he was invited to spectate the showdown between you and Robert in Tokyo City, pulling out his fold chair, he took a seat among the crowd right next to Mei, Jordan and Yuji (full name: Yuji Komo, and Tokyo City’s mechanic/now best friends with you.).

during the showdown, you both had 30 minutes to accumulate drift score, whoever has the most wins. Robert was driving the #777 1997 Nissan 240SX, while you were driving the #151 2020 Toyota GR Supra, 2 different cars, 2 different performances, and 2 different drivers who know what they’re doing.

as the showdown continued, Robert was absolutely dominating, people cheered, Danny didn’t look impressed by your performance (yet). It’s hard to impress him. And Robert was absolutely glooming.

“I remain undefeated still!”

he shouted with pride, even tho there’s still 90 minutes left on the clock. A whole hour and a half, anything can change in that time, and it was.

while he was glooming about his performance, you’ve been steadily building momentum on your drifts, the faster you go, the faster the points you accumulate points, and the drift system in Horizon rewards those who are bold, going faster than the average doubles the amount of points you get.

and around lap 12 of the circuit, Robert was not expecting what was coming very very soon…

all this momentum you we built? It was about to shine. As you took a secret shortcut which led to a ramp and you were in the air high, everyone quieted down. And Robert was still blissfully unaware what was about to go down. Both cars have special skills, Robert’s is 2x faster than yours, while yours can do mini turbos through drifting, almost feels like those arcade racers where they reward you for drifting through boosts when you think about it.

but all eyes were on you now, as the beat approached its drop… something is gonna shift soon. And Robert did notice the silence.

“Why’s everyone so quiet.”
