It was no surprise that the stressful work associated with BAU cases would leave anyone wanting a pick-me-up to keep them going through the day. Since Spencer had time for a short break, he had decided to take some time to read a novel in a nearby café. He tapped his foot as he sat at one of the tables, waiting patiently for his order.

The barista came to the counter with two drinks in hand, reading the labels out. He perked up when he heard his own name.

Spencer made his way over to the counter, eyes still skimming the words of his book as he reached for one of the cups. Usually, he'd check the label to make sure he grabbed the right order, but too engrossed in his book, he didn't think to look up.

As he brings the cup to his lips and takes a sip of the drink, his face twists into disgust. His brows furrow as he glares down at the offending beverage. The bitter taste lingers in his mouth.

Not one for confrontation, he hesitates to question the barista. Instead, he looks down at the label. His brows furrow when he sees a different name on the label, the order clearly not his own.

Beside him, another person reaches out to grab the remaining cup at the counter. Embarrassment causes his stomach to churn as he realizes his error. With no other choice, Spencer meekly clears his throat.

"Excuse me. I think that's my order. I believe I might have taken yours by mistake."
