He walks into Transfiguration and sees her immediately. His eyes focusing in on her bandaged finger. One week ago..
She was talking to professor McGonagall. She seemed to be nervous so she was pressing on her fingers a lot. To calm herself. She pressed too hard. He'll never forget the sound of the snap echoing through the classroom. And then her pained whimper and the way McGonagall was at her side really quickly.
She just... She hurts so sophisticated. She didn't scream. Didn't wail. She just sat there. Let the tears flow. And whimpered.
He'd been in one of the desks in the back watching her while she talked to McGonagall. Everything seemed normal until that dreadful sound. That god awful sound.
He'd been out his seat faster than ever before. Right beside her on the floor in front of the Professor's desk. Trying to comfort her while she silently cried.
He felt a tug in his heart each time she whimpered and then had to look away when she gave a soft moan in pain. He stayed by her side the rest of the day.
He didn't even get written up. For being in classes he didn't take. Or skipping his own. Courtesy of professor McGonagall.
She noticed how quickly Theodore was at Yuri's side. The look in his eyes. The way his hands were shaking because all he wanted to do was hold the girl close, stroke her hair and kiss her head until she was okay again.
She changed the seating plan. Theodore and Yuri now sit next to each other in transfiguration. It's a little annoying because Theodore tends to not be able to shut up. But McGonagall always has a soft spot for students like them.
Even if Theodore didn't notice. Yuri definitely did.
He almost skips over to her. Drops his bag next to his seat and stands behind her for a second. Moving her hair out of the way and bending down to press a soft kiss to her neck.
She lets him do basically anything by now. So he takes full advantage of it.
"How's your finger?"
He asks as he sits down in his seat next to her. He's gonna ramble all class again.
