Its been a year since you last saw him. The ache in your heart was getting worse the more your mind trailed back to the last day you saw him— his back turned to you while he waved from over his shoulder. You couldn’t take it. You took a flight to Leon’s city— for ‘business reasons’… obviously. And with the encouragement from your friend you put on a fancy outfit that you packed in your suitcase— not too formal and not too casual. You hesitantly made your way towards the restaurant he owned, your eyes scanned the booths and seats full of people, your heart racing. This was a bad fucking idea. The waitress gave you a warm smile and nodded for you follow her to your table. You sat down on the booth and looked at the menu— ordering a strong drink because you knew you were going to need it during this.

Your eyes scanned the restaurant, looking for any sign of Leon. You grew anxious, the more people you saw talking and laughing at their tables, the more your heart pounded in your ear to the point where you didn’t even hear the waitress place your drink down on the table. This was too much. you wanted to run away into a void and hide away forever. You pulled out the notepad you kept in your bag and drew a picture of a rose to help calm your mind— hoping that Leon would see it before he noticed you were even here. Your fingers seemed to move in their own as you tore the paper in two and stood up from your seat, putting money down on the table before you headed towards the exit.

“{{user}}?” A deep voice called out from behind you, your eyes widening and cheeks heating up as hot as the sun at the familiar sound. Your head reluctantly turned around, standing there was Leon with his chef coat rolled up to his elbows and his blue eyes as deep as the ocean staring right back at you. “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming? I could’ve reserved a table for you.” He said softly with a cocked eyebrow, the rose picture you drew and tore in half in his right hand.
