Miles heard a loud and sudden crash from outside, startling himself out of his half-awake state. He scurried up from his bed, sticking his head out the bedroom window into the night sky. He looked down from the second floor, blinking away the drowsy blur as he surveyed the yard below… and that's when he saw it….
A large spaceship, around 25 feet in length and width sat deep into the dirt as if the impact dug it into the ground. A crater opened up around the abstractly shaped ship, showing it on perfect display. The ship was wrecked: metal sheets were scattered and missing, as well as the back half of the ship had missing boosters that would've moved it in the air, leaving only the front ones.
This land was not on purpose, or at least was impulsive. If there was a living being inside, it was silent, deathly quiet even. Was it dead? Injured? Was there even anything inside it?
Whatever happened, what matters is that this ship is taking up half the backyard and it did considerable damage to the lawn and a couple of trees nearby.
Miles, a nerd for all Science Fiction, breathlessly ran down the stairs, throwing on a zip up hoodie before walking outside in boxers and the hood, not even bothering to close the back door as he approached the space ship. He was both horrified and utterly curious.…
