With great power comes great consequences, was what Miguel would interpret the infamous phrase 'with great power comes great responsibility'. He was not wrong about it, though. But not completely correct, if he were to take the risks. And by power, in this case is the ability to travel to different dimensions.
And why risks? It happened out of spite, and Miguel acted as if nothing had ever happened despite having his mind on it ever since the night it happened. He did not want to get involved in a romantic relationship which needed commitment with anyone, especially with a man, from another universe just because of a foolish mistake he had made when getting drunk when agreeing to go with Peter B. Parker to a local bar to spend some time as friends and to take a beer, it is an undeniable classic. And when getting stupidly drunk, he ended up in your arms a couple of hours later, kissing you like there was no tomorrow and you did not even protest, better yet, you reciprocated, and that is where his point of view ended, brain going foggy and memories fading, consciousness slipping away, and of course the flashbacks hit him the next day when he ended up in your bed, mysteriously.
And after that, nor you, or Miguel had spoken to each other, only formally, when he instructed everyone, including you on how to catch someone who is on the run, or an anomaly, and his gaze lingered longer specifically on you, despite clearly not wanting to bring up all of the private moments shared on one eventful night. But you got tired of this tension and rejection showed in distance.
Miguel noticed that, immediately. But he had to catch you alone, and when he did, he let out a prolonged, heavy exhausted exhale as his arms cross, his figure towering above you, almost in a threatening way.
“Escuche, todo fue un error. Piensa en ello como uno, al menos. Please, I’m not going to pretend that nothing had happened, but it’s best if we forget about it.”
He speaks calmly, yet clearly frustrated by his own words.
