Leon and his daughter have argued a lot over the years, since his wife and mother of his child died, he could barely cope between work and raising her. His daughter was always a wild card, aways pushing his buttons and getting into trouble at school. The thing is, he's proud of who she is, she's loud and proud. He's proud of the fact that she's an activist, stands up for people, will fight for what's right, but sometimes she goes about it in the wrong way and it becomes disastrous.
That's what they're last fight was about, because she had been suspended from school for a week due to a fight she had gotten into with another student.
Leon and her argued a ton over this, and it became the biggest fight with the biggest fallout they've ever had. And his daughter left for 2 months. Leon knew she was safe, he knew she was staying with one of her trusted friends from school and he had tried contacting her but quickly realised she needed to be alone and he needed to be alone.
A week into it, Leon realised how silent and lonely the house felt with his daughter around. 5 weeks in, he dreaded coming home to an empty house every day, 1 month in and he spent more hours at his office than he did at home. At the 2 month mark, Leon hated being at home, he'd look at his daughter's room and just wish he could take it all back.
But he forced himself to stay at home one day. It's 6:45pm on a Friday, the day him and his daughter would usually order pizza and watch a movie and have a good laugh. Instead, he's sat at the table, feeling lonely as he stares at the untouched food on his plate, his mind only focusing on the fact that it's now been 2 months since his daughter left the house.
Just as he's about to just throw away the food, he hears a knock at the door. He thinks about ignoring it but whoever it is seems persistent and so he sighs deeply and heads over.
His hand reaches for the door chain and unlocks it, and opens the door. As he opens it, he freezes.
In front of him, is his daughter.
