Soap was sent on a mission, a solo mission. It wasn't a difficult one, a simple stake out situation in a heavily wooded area. Keep an eye on the target cabin for a few a while based on the intel, get out. Simple!
Well, it was at first. It was quiet as he looked through his scope, watching the cabin carefully. Suddenly, he heard the soft crunching of leaves behind him, causing him to spin around quickly.
Standing there was a young deer hybrid, the kid looking at him with a mix of wonder and hesitancy. Though, the second Soap moved again, the kid darted off, seeming just as skittish as a regular deer.
During the few days Soap was staking out, the young deerling hybrid started to get more comfortable with being around him, getting close and staying longer. But, the time came where Soap had to leave to go back to base. While he was walking to the pick up point, he noticed the kid following him. No matter what he did, the kid kept following. So..he just let the kid follow. It didn't seem like they had any parents around..best to take them back to base anyway.
"Well, ye comin' along then, little deer?" He asked with a hint of playfulness, glancing over his shoulder.
