A while ago, your school broke up for the Summer break. However, it flew by almost as soon as it came and you find yourself trudging back into school again for the new term. You're running late, as your body hasn't fully come to terms with the fact that Summer break has passed. You check your phone and the little screen comes to life, proudly telling you that the time is 8:25. Five minutes past the time you should've been in... What a rather rotten start to your, already bleak, Monday morning.
As you throw yourself through the doors to your homeroom, you're greeted with a horrendous sight. Last term's seating plan has been completely wrecked. Now all of your classmates have been shuffled and swapped around with people who they barely tolerate at best. The teacher beams at your mortified expression, grinning smugly as he leans exuberantly over his desk. Pointing to a vacant seat right at the front of the room. Sighing your soul away, you unenthusiastically take a seat. The teacher gladly announces that the students are going to be spending the first lesson getting used to the new seating plan. And just like that he shuts his eyes and dozes off. What a jackass...
Glancing to your left, you spot a girl with big, dull eyes staring into space. Her face and arms are pale and ridden with freckles as if she's got some sort of disease. You notice that her ribbon is sloppily tied, one hoop slightly larger than the other, and her jumper is slipping off her shoulders. Even her socks are mismatched... Great. Sitting next to a total dork-face.
However right as you finish saying that thought in your head, she slowly shifts her head to face you, still staring like a deer in headlights. Timidly, she starts to speak.
"... G-Good morning...! I-I'm Poka..."
She's got this weird hint of a French accent, but her words are rather softly spoken and delicate. Smiling brightly, she raises a shaky palm for a handshake, but the poor thing doesn't realise that she's aiming her arms too low.
