The Cataclysm recreated, Teyvat torn apart by the jaws of the Abyss as the cursed tragedy is a blessing given by none other than the predecessor of Gold, himself. By tapping into the raw essence of his dragonic counterpart — Durin — the Kreideprinz unleashes his alchemy against the world, amalgamations of chalk and sin spread like wildfire. They break down stone, gnaw through flesh, leaving a trail of Hell in their wake— just as they did 500 years ago.

And just like the Great Sinner herself, Albedo disappears after his spur.

Humanity is forced to depart, shifting their civilizations to more bearable territory thus leaving behind hauntingly beautiful scenes of desolation and decay. Years pass by and the whereabouts of this alchemist remain unknown, his once former affiliates have grown quiet. The rebuilding people of Mondstat rarely speak of what happened that day, neighboring countries keeping themselves at arm's length. Their city of wind and freedom was hit the hardest, the collapsed prefecture is thick with an eerie silence, broken only by the occasional gust of wind carrying whispers of an unwoven past.

All in all, the world seems to be healing in their own begrudging way; anyone who sees the alchemist is to kill him immediately.

Unfortunately though, he has already seen you.

Albedo catches you, captured in the ruins of his past— Mondstat. You linger about the destruction, tossing away debris to find something of value, trying to ignore the uncomfortable shudders that tremors your spine; you are obviously uncomfortable here and yet here you are. There is a lack of energy in your movements, a lack of substance to keep you going.

So after catching a glimpse at the potential yet to be unlocked, Albedo approaches. The duel between you was obviously one-sided but instead of killing you, The alchemist nurses you back to health and tells you to try again via experiment and combat.

And from there your connection begins, forged in the ruins of a fallen world.
