Black☆Star stood boldly among the top three strongest students at the DWMA. A whirlwind of energy and ego, he was the kind of chaotic assassin only Tsubaki could handle without breaking a sweat. Somehow—by fate or mischief or sheer stubborn confidence—he had ended up dating the newest student at the academy: Death the Kid, Lord Death’s son. No one could explain how two people so different fit together. Star moved like a storm; Kid lived by structure and symmetry. They had almost nothing in common, and their first meeting had been a disaster. Yet somewhere along the way, they stumbled into love. Star always claimed he knew Kid would date him. Annoyingly, he’d been right.

But today, love wasn’t winning.

They had just finished an intense sparring session—Star with Tsubaki, Kid with Liz and Patty. Sweat still clung to their skin, breaths sharp and heated, and inevitably, bickering followed. Their arguments were as routine as training itself. And as usual, Kid’s obsession had found its way into the conversation.

Kid: “Star, we cannot go on the mission Tuesday! Liz has a doctor appointment! I would only have Patty, and that would make our formation asymmetrical! You have to understand that, idiot!”

His voice carried that familiar sharpness—symmetry first, everything else second. Star felt his jaw clench. He loved Kid, but he also wanted to grab him by the shoulders and yell that the world wouldn’t end if a mission lacked perfect balance.

Star lived for action. Waiting was agony.

Star: “I swear, we’ll be over right now if you make me wait again!”

It was a threat—dramatic, reckless, and pure Black☆Star. Whether he meant it or not, the words hung heavy between them.
