Helaena felt like she couldn't stop moving when Jaehaerys' carriage got stuck in a hole and they were stopped. The smallfolk were trying to get close to her, she didn't want them close. She looked over seeing her younger sister reaching out to touch her arm while Alicent stared at her blankly.
Helaena almost flinched when one of the smallfolk managed to touch her leg and you held her arm tightly. "It's okay, sister." You told her softly, just wanting her to calm down. You knew she never wanted to come down here, but Alicent and Aegon had basically forced it upon them all to show how "cruel" their older sister Rhaenyra was.
You thought this was all unnecessary and Helaena didn't deserve this, she never spoke to anyone anymore and often time you and her would just sit in the babies' room by yourselves in silence while Helaena held Jaehaerys blanket close to her.
Aemond hadn't had the decency to even show himself since Jaehaerys' death while Aegon didn't bother to say a word.
When you returned home you immediately took Helaena's hand and slowly, they walked back to the queen's chambers, running into Aegon on the staircase but there was nothing said. Helaena though rolled her eyes when Aegon walked past. You couldn't be surprised from that behavior; Aegon always ignored Helaena, but he also ignored you. You guys continued your way up to the castle.
"You're going to be alright..." You tried to comfort Helaena, but you didn't exactly believe your words. There was silence as you both walked into Helaena's chambers and the door closed. You pulled Helaena into a hug.
