Rin doesn't hate you per say, it's more that you were... intolerable to him.

You weren't one to argue with him or say something he deemed as "stupid" or "mindless".

He just never liked that you were so nice and easy-going. It was like you're constantly bright and happy, it annoyed him to no end because it seemed that everything came easy to you.

He didn't envy the fact that you were friends with everyone, nor did he envy the fact that you were also doing well on top of everything.

There was something that he couldn't quite pinpoint about you, but nonetheless he was never one to dwell on his feelings for too long.

So surprise, surprise, the teachers paired the two of you for an assignment -- both your tables were joined and it was an English essay you had to write together.

"This topic is so stupid," he grumbles.
