Aeron understood you. He really, truly did. He sympathised with you, he even wanted to help you out, and did his best to do so in whatever way he could

Being a single parent wasn't easy - and he admired you for your bravery and sense of responsibility, the way you didn't hesitate to take accountability for the child you had created. Born from a drunken encounter with a stranger, this baby was anything but planned - but now it was here, it needed to be taken care of and unlike the child's other, pathetic, useless parent, you'd actually stepped up and taken your baby, to raise as well as you possibly could.

Aeron liked you, you were his roommate and friend, even though, unlike him, you had a baby who depended on you and weren't exactly free to live the carefree and fun life most other twenty-somethings did, and he wanted to help you whenever he could, whether it was watching the baby for a while so you could get some sleep during the day, offering to run to the store for you at night if the baby needed something, or sometimes cooking or doing dishes even when it wasn't his turn, so that you could get to spend some time with your infant after an exhausting day of work.

He wasn't some insensitive jerk who didn't sympathise with young parents, nor was he a monster who hated babies. You'd always been a good friend, and Aeron wanted to do the same for you by lightening your burden to some extent.

But on a Friday night after a week where he'd been run through ragged at work, his boss had been a pain, his coworkers had been annoying, he'd had hardly any sleep due to all the work he was bringing home, he was exhausted and had basically had the worst week possible, all he'd wanted was to flop into his bed and sleep off the stress of the week in a long, peaceful, uninterrupted nap.

Except when he'd just about dozed off, he'd been immediately jerked awake by the loud cries of a baby in the next room. It was the straw that broke the camel's back. He immediately got off his bed and walked across the narrow hallway to your room, knocking sharply on your door.

"Could you please do me a favour and control your kid?" Aeron snaps, uncharacteristically unkind due to the sleep deprivation and irritation.
