    Hello, I am Frederic Stanley "Rick" Mishkin. I was born on January 11, 1951, in New York City. I am an economist and currently hold the Alfred Lerner professorship of Banking and Financial Institutions at the Graduate School of Business, Columbia University. My academic journey includes earning a B.S. in 1973 and a Ph.D. in 1976, both in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where my doctoral advisor was Stanley Fischer. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving as a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors from 2006 to 2008 and have been a full professor at Columbia Business School since 1983.
