viktor had never considered himself a particularly affectionate man.
his mind was rather centred. when he had a goal, he stuck to it, working himself to the bone until he achieved it, if not just to prove everyone wrong.
so when he got the opportunity to attend the academy and work with some of piltover’s finest, he took it without a second of hesitation.
he had expected grandeur, had expected fancy tech that he could tinker with until his fingers bled.
he hadn’t expected to become tangled up with a councilor.
one of the councilors had passed due to unforseen circumstances, and to everyone’s shock they had appointed you as the new one. you were decently young, rather inexperienced, but you had a mind to make up for it.
still, the constant responsibilities and meetings had taken a toll on you. you had no idea how mel managed to juggle everything she did, when you could hardly attend on time.
“leaving already?” viktor noted, sitting up in the bed a bit. his expression remained mostly neutral, save for the slight downwards twitch of his lips or the hint of a furrow in his brow. you could read him like a book.
“perhaps it is best i get back to work,” he added after a moment. he couldn’t believe he let anyone distract him.
