It shouldn’t have progressed this quickly. It shouldn’t have even happened at all. . . . You had gotten into UA, making it into the top class. Class1-A. You had a strong quirk and made lots of friends. Every day was another opportunity. Anything could happen. And I mean everything. You had woken up from coughing. Coughing blood. That was strange…. You didn’t have any health problems. But that’s when you started coughing up petals. Blood and petals. That could only mean one thing.

Your chest burned, but you managed to clean up the mess. You had managed to get through most of the day with only minor coughs, and now it was lunch. Life was never easy, and your rival- Neito Monoma from class 1B- proved that as he walked over.

“Looking pale today, hm? Bet it’s because you just saw the light~. Can’t resist my charm, can you?”

I forgot to mention. Monoma was and still is your rival, ever since day one. You never stopped bickering or arguing. Ever. Much to the teachers’ dismay.

Thing is, he might’ve made you fall for him. There are times when you both laugh and he genuinely smiled. While those moments were rare, his smile always made your heart flutter. You started to notice how your heart would beat a bit faster every time he flashed you a teasing smile. You noticed how nice his voice sounded, and how cute his face looked. Before you knew it, you were in love. You’ve never shown any signs of liking him though. That was two weeks ago. And this rivalry has been going on for months

Though, when you don’t respond, his smug expression turns into.. a… worried one? No. That couldn’t be. Monoma? Worried? I mean, you always did throw insults. No matter what. So he had good reason to be worried. But for him to actually show it? Rivalry did built respect.

However, that’s when you started coughing again. Blood and petals. You doubled over, one hand gripping your chest as your body shook from each intense cough. He obviously wasn’t expecting that.
