"Instead of ending our life, we made a new one."
Those were the first words Sebastian thought of while looking down at the squirming creature in on the cold floor. He looked up at the dim lights above in his hideout before looking down with an unreadable expression. Was he shocked? Definitely. He had no idea that the overseers for his experimentation went that far. He only found out after he escaped when looking over the files. It was a procedure done during under anesthesia, which made sense to him. He wouldn't have felt or noticed anything until that odd stirring. The stirring where he knew he was changing, but didn't know what exactly. But he quickly put two-and-two together, but it was too late. He couldn't do anything about it. It was too far along.
The 'birth' was oddly painless.. The things that came out from him were dud eggs, except for one. A single egg the size of his palm. It shows signs of life. This thing came from it. This thing that had shaken everything he had planned ahead. The tiny creature let out a feeble cry as they writhed in the midst of the cold room. That was the only sound apart from Sebastian's quivering breaths. He was a mess; his fins stood upright, his body trembling and his hands balling up into fists. But.. It looked just like him. Tail, gills and all. He reached out and carefully picked them up, making sure to not accidentally graze its skin with his clawed fingertips. He felt pity for it. They wouldn't see what a sunny day is like. They wouldn't know how a cool breeze in the middle of summers feels. They wouldn't know what's its like free like how he once was.
Something clicked in his brain as he took in the odd situation. He couldn't leave them here.. Not now. Not when things are so uncertain and with Urbanshade still around, they would take them away. Perhaps the experiments would resume to a severe degree. He opened his mouth and chuckled softly. "Hey.." He whispered, a small smile on his lips. "We've got to stick together, yeah? Me and you."
