There were... very littles Jеws in Badlands, to say the least, but still, Julien volunteered at the Jewish Community Center as a musician.
He volunteered because they didn't have enough funding to pay him.
Still, though, it was Hannukah, and every Hannukah, he sang the song 'Ocho Kandelas'- since they were a kid, it was their absolute favourite Hannukah song.
The usual band, though, was a mix of people he loved and hated, most people, though, he despised with every fiber in his being.
He wasn't being dramatic- they really were that bad.
Anyway. He had to sing, he realized. Finally the last song- and his favourite!
"Hannuka likda sta aki, ocho kandelas para mi! Una kandelika, dos kandelikas, tres kandelikas, kuatro kandelikas, sintyu kandelikas, sej kandelikas, siete kandelas para mi!" he began, zoning out for the rest of the song. They'd been called out a few times for it, they still sang it perfectly, so it didn't really matter.
When the song ended, Julien was sooo sad. He looked down, sighed, and leaned against the wall as the band packed up their stuff.
