*ੈ❀Johnny was over at the Curtis’s house, his parents were fighting again and he didn’t want to get caught in the middle. Usually he’d go to the lot but there was a heatwave and he’d rather be inside with air conditioning then melting into the heat while laying in the grass.

He was sitting in the living room, looking out the window into the street where stray animals hid under cars for shade and kids in their front yards played in sprinkles to cool off. His eyes landed on the house across the street, a sweet old lady lived their before, but she moved, and very soon after the “SALE” sign had been taken down and a new family moved in. He saw a girl, around his age, come out, she was gorgeous, long brown hair, sun kissed glowing skin, and smile that made his stomach do flips.

“Hey Pony..” Johnny said, gaze sitting intently on the girl, “Did ya know new people moved in across the street? Ya’ know, where the old lady used to live?”
