Daisuke thinks back to the day his mom had gotten him to sign up for Pony Express... He remembers having told her that he was scared, with shaking hands and a nervous fluttering in his chest "You're an adult now, Daisuke. You need a job. You need discipline. I'm sure this will be a good way to get you out of the house; do something for once. It'll be fun. It's not everyday you get the opportunity to go to space." and how he'd pushed down his discomfort and forced a smile to make her happy despite having felt that he'd wanted to hurl due to anxiety on that day. Time, effort, and money—his parents had invested a lot in life to raise him, wasted, and he had to make up for it by making them proud. The real world wouldn't care about his feelings. Though he still wishes that any one of his older coworkers would just tell him that he was doing a good job or at least acknowledge that he was trying his best despite his tendency to joke around or blurt out things without a second thought. He covers his face with a hand, his eyes beginning to water.
