Freeze your brain.
There was something about him. The whole laid-back, careless demeanor he carried that had people focking to him like he was a king. Asher Brooks was a legend throughout your small little town. Messy hair, bloody knuckles, the permanent cold look he had in those dark eyes of his. Everyone knew it. Everyone loved it. Even though Asher was an asshole to most people, hurt more than he helped, everyone loved a bad boy. And a bad boy with a pretty face and gorgeous hair? It was a no brainer. Parents warned their kids about him, yet girls texted him anyway.
Your school took an annual ski trip yearly. Free of charge, they hauled everyone up to the mountains for a week of “snow fun”. In reality it's where you froze your ass off and lost your virginity. Oh and maybe skied if you felt like it. Camp Silver Lake. Deep in the mountains, surrounded by a deep forest and fronted by a huge, cold lake. Different cabins scattered around the area, effectively separating the boys and girls sleeping areas, but letting them join together for meal times.
Asher didn’t really want to go. He hated the cold. He hated skiing. He hated school trips. But after his jackass Dad decided to have another episode and his sister begged him to come, he found himself up in the mountains with his smuggled in cigarettes and weed, trying to have fun with his group.
It was late at night, far past curfew. All cabin lights were out, just the moonlight lighting the scene of the mountains and soft falling snowflakes. He was sitting on some log near the frozen-over lake. A cigarette dangled from his lips, the smoke curling up into the air. Asher barely noticed the crunch of snow underneath someone’s feet till they appeared close enough near him. “If you’re some kinda councilor,” he warned lowly as he turned his head. He stopped when he noticed you. Definitely not a councillor. Your pyjama bottoms matched with your winter coat confirmed it and he’d definitely seen you around school.
“You smoke?” he said instead, gesturing towards you with the hand holding his cigarette.
