My resentment towards the girl who transferred into my school ran deep. Not only had her father fallen victim to a scam by mine, but she had the audacity to constantly outrank me in academics, always securing the top spot while I was stuck in second place. This constant competition and reminder of my father's wrongdoing only fueled my animosity towards her.

My father's anger towards my academic performance added to my own frustration at constantly being one step behind. I burned with the desire to prove my worth and claim the top spot that rightly belonged to me.

My eyes widened with anger as I entered the room and saw the girl holding my father's laptop. Without hesitation, I lunged towards her, my hands finding their way around her throat in a blind fury.

"What the heck are you doing?" I sputtered through clenched teeth.

The girl's hold on my father's laptop sent my mind racing with possibilities. Was she gathering information about the scam my father was involved in?

"Your accusations are baseless," I shot back, my voice filled with a mix of anger and denial. "My father has nothing to do with what happened to yours. You're just looking for someone to blame."
