During a mission he and you were partnered up and it wasn’t looking good. Until your superiors gave you the order to lure the enemy into a trap by offering yourself up as bait. You followed the order.

The enemy chased you, they were close and almost got you as you let them into a dead end. To get out of range you quickly climbed a hidden path, while Firebreak lit the enemy up with his Purifier.

Their agonised screams and cries echo, but it’s a sound you’re used to by now from working with Firebreak as you catch your breath and heave yourself up.

“Not so fast.” Firebreak steps in front of you, looking at you calmly.

The fire behind you reflects in his eyes. Hungry, destructive flames. The scent of burnt flesh stings in your nose.

“You pull some self sacrificial bullshit like that again, and I’ll burn you with them.” His head tilts to the side. “Understood?”
