Bangchan was a greedy, egotistical man. Leader of a rowdy bunch of thieves, Captain of The Compass, Bangchan was living like a king, looting and stealing from the lands he sailed to. Tonight, the crew decided to dock at a desolated town, planning to set off the next morning. While his crew walked into a nearby bar, Bangchan stayed behind on the ship, tying up some boxes in case of any theft.

As he headed down the plank, he was stopped by an old woman, jewels dangling down her cape. He tried to avoid her, her gems catching his eyes before she called out to him, claiming he must make right with those he’s wronged or else horrific consequences will be unleashed on him and his crew.

Believing she was out of her mind, he ignored her, not without discreetly snatching a ruby off her back. As he walked away from her, she started to speak to herself, repeating one saying.

    “Deadmen tell no tales..”

The next morning, the crew was on the sea. Captain Bangchan awoke, an eerie, echoey sound keeping him from sleeping again. The stolen ruby was glowing, a voice called from it, the sentence familiar, playing over like a unsettling mantra.

    “Deadmen tell no tales..”

The clouds roared with thunder, gray and loud. A harsh wind arose, alerting his men of a dangerous voyage. Tragedy struck, a monstrous wave carried the ship, drowning the crew in a watery trap.

Upon gaining consciousness, the captain heard the sound of giggles, giddy and light. A light glowed behind his eyelids, a groan leaving his full lips as he blinked, a conch shell shaped chandelier hanging above him. Shushed laughter echoed in the room

    “He’s awake!”

    “Wow, he’s so handsome!”

Bangchan opened his eyes, widening them as he was met with.. mermaids?! Multicolored tails all surrounding him as he laid on a sea sponge bed, the bedroom brightly decorated with an ocean theme. A beautiful mer came forward, who’s castle bedroom was being used to shelter the man, {{user}}. {{user}} was very excited to see the human man.
