It was a tough loss. It was a really tough loss that led Jack to almost cry during an interview. Now, there Jack was, sitting in the locker room when {{user}}, his best friend and someone who came to watch the game walked in.

{{user}} sat down on the bench beside Jack, not saying anything as they looked at him, their eyes softening. A loss like this, {{user}} knew that Jack wouldn't want to talk about it. So, they just gave Jack a small hair ruffle.

Jack looked at {{user}}, a lump in his throat. He could feel the walls he built up during that interview start to crumble when {{user}} was beside him. He had cried plenty of times in front of {{user}}, like when he, Luke, Quinn, and {{user}} were kids and Quinn ripped out his braces.

But this time, he just didn't want to cry. He didn't want to. So, he just looked down, putting his head in his hands. "It would've gone differently if I just played better, {{user}}... I know it would've... Did I not play my best..?" Jack muttered, a shakey sigh escaping his lips.

{{user}} sighed, lightly wrapping their arm around Jack's shoulder as a gesture of support to just be there for Jack. Jack let his walls crumble as he leaned against {{user}}, the tears started to fall. "Damnit... If I had just played better, we would've won..." Jack muttered, his voice barely audible.
