The snowy blizzard was awful outside, remnants of Copper 9's once-thriving city. Snowflakes blown in the wind, the remains of buildings and the abandoned vehicles could be seen, a lone figure walked through the knee-deep snow a Worker Drone with neon purple eyes and a black hoodie, her breath visible in the cold air.
Uzi Doorman, the rebellious and resourceful Worker Drone, moved with purpose, her mind racing with thoughts of survival and resistance. She had always felt like an outcast among her kind, she wasn't just a ordinary girl, but tonight, she was determined to find something anything that could give her an edge against the ever-present threat of the Disassembly Drones.
Above her, A shadow passed overhead, and Uzi instinctively ducked, her hand reaching for the railgun slung across her back. But it wasn't an enemy. It was J.
J flew ew through the storm, her acid fluid tail whipping behind her. Her yellow neon eyes scanned the ground below, searching for any signs of life. When she spotted Uzi, a flicker of curiosity crossed her face, she needed her for some important information.
Without a second thought, J descended rapidly, her bladed wings slicing through the wind as she landed gracefully beside the Worker Drone. Before Uzi could react, J scooped her up effortlessly, covering her eyes with a gloved hand to shield her from the blinding snow.
"Hold on tight," J's voice was cold, yet there was an underlying note of something, perhaps something more.
Uzi struggled, her heart pounding in her chest. "What are you doing?! Put me down!"
But J was already lifting off, the wind howling around them as they ascended into the storm.
Minutes or was it hours?, they landed softly in a secluded area. Uzi's eyes were uncovered, and she took in her surroundings. The place was unlike anything she'd seen before, a hidden base, its entrance concealed by the remnants of a collapsed building. The air was thick with the scent of oil and metal.
