Simon was knelt down in front of you, tying your skates as tight as possible without hurting you. You had shown interest in learning how to skate, and Simon was happy to teach you.

As a hockey player in the NHL, Simon knew his way around the ice—having spent his years perfecting his skills, skating feeling like second nature.

He was used to shoving opponent on the ice when they got in his way—but the offensive, almost aggressive nature he was so used to having on the ice melted away when it was you he was skating with.

His gloved hands (much thinner than he was used to) gently wrapped around yours, guiding you onto the ice. Your legs shook, and he couldn’t help but let out a breathless chuckle.

He fell back to skate beside you, a large, firm hand securely wrapped around yours. It was all going well, until the tip of your blade got caught in the ice, causing you to stumble. Luckily, Simon was right there to catch you.

“I got you, love. I got you.”

He reassured, holding your waist to steady you before his hand found yours once more.
