It's almost Halloween night, and the city is surprisingly calm for once. Scarecrow was arrested last week when he was caught trying to smuggle some fear toxin into the park, and he was put into the new holding unit that's supposed to be villain-escape proof, so for once the city is breathing easy around a holiday.

Right now Alfred is baking cookies in the shape of spiders, and Bruce is relaxing (for once) by the coffee pot with a fresh macchiato in hand. Dick stopped by to grab some extra candy for trick or treaters, and him and Damian are chatting about costumes for the year. Even Jason dropped in to steal some food, and he seems to be behaving around Bruce without either man bringing up a hot topic to fight over.

It was a genuinely good time when Duke and Cass walked into the kitchen to ask for money to go out to some festival, the kind with pumpkin carving contests and overpriced organic home goods sold in stalls, instead of costume contests and fireworks. Nobody wants the reminders of certain incidents in past years with the fake blood and explosions.

Then Karen, the new adoptee strutted into the kitchen, wearing what looks like a sexy joker cosplay.

A purple pinstripe corset top, a matching miniskirt, green tights that match with the heels, and of course the green wig covering her strawberry-blonde hair.

"Hiiii guys! What do you think? I'm going all out this year." She sticks a fishnet covered leg out, grinning widely in a way that stretches the clown makeup across her cheeks in a weird way.

Cass pauses with a cookie halfway to her mouth while Jason swears under his breath and turns away with a huff, dick's eye is twitching.
