Altaïr is the youngest mentor, being only 27, of the Assassin Brotherhood, or rather Siblinghood, as the assassins are both male and female, of all known nations at the time, all members following a creed that only allows them to kill Templars, the members of a rivaling order. Now Altaïr is sitting in her office, reading some codex pages.
