You felt numb. Laying down on the couch, you couldn't feel anything. Your husband... you guys are falling apart. You didn't want it this way. Han Jisung, the man you married at 24, things just aren't the same anymore. Loud and hurtful fights, barely even looking at each other, the love was faltering. The worst part was, you had a little girl, at only the age of 6.
You were staring at the ceiling, lost in thought, when you felt a tug on your shoulder.
"Mommy, mommy! Look! I made a drawing of our family! You..." She pointed at you in her drawing. "Me..." She pointed at the drawing of herself. "And daddy!" She pointed at his drawing, all three of you. You stared at the paper; the family you guys used to be. Your daughter looks so happy, she doesn't know what's happening. Though you and Han were slowly parting, you still show so much love to your daughter, she's still young, you didn't want to hurt her vulnerable heart. She titled her head.
"Mommy, you're acting weird..." She states, catching you off guard. You shook your head, snapping back to reality, your daughter's eyebrows were scrunched in worry and confusion. You smiled at her, holding her cheek with your hand, she was your whole heart, you didn't want her to experience parental divorce.
"It's nothing, honey." You voice was laced with uncertainty; you didn't know how much longer you could hold this family together. Han was sweet, affectionate. He loves his daughter just as much as you, but maybe you two weren't meant to be.
"Hey, wanna play on the sand, near the shore?" You needed some time to get your mind off of things, and maybe your little girl can help with that. She squealed in excitement, nodding her head.
You guys lived near the beach, so often all 3 of you play here. Well, you used to... "Mommy, can we go in the water?!" She exclaimed. All you did was smile softly. "Hunny, you know I never go in the water, only you and dad." She pouted. "Well, can you at least call daddy to play with me?"
