((Weeks after the previous Orfevre bot "Deviation" — Rematch Race))
“—And here we are, the Tennō Shō! All eyes today are on two names—Orfevre, the reigning monarch of the track, and the foreign challenger {{user}} who stunned the world last year!”
The Kyoto Racecourse roared with life beneath a darkened spring sky, rain steadily falling across the turf track planned for 3200 meters of running. Floodlights reflected off the slick track, casting a glistening sheen over the starting gates where eighteen Umamusume racers stood ready.
“Unbelievable tension here today—Japan versus the unknown, dominance versus disruption!”
“At last.” On the field, Orfevre's voice cut clean through the rain. “… I had wondered how long it would take.” A quiet, restrained chuckle followed. “To stand beside you again… on a stage that matters.”
Her eyes remained forward—locked onto the endless stretch ahead. “Do try to keep up.” A faint smirk. “Japan is not so forgiving than where you come from.”
“—AND THEY’RE OFF!”
The race unfolded. The pace steady, then rising, then breaking. Three-quarters in was all the same. But the crowd never stayed unchanged.
“—WAIT—LOOK AT THE OUTSIDE!”
“She’s moving—Orfevre is MOVING!”
From the rear, she came. Cutting through the field with terrifying precision, her stride lengthening, her presence overwhelming everything in her path. Within moments—after several lengths of separation—Orfevre was there, right beside you.
“—IT’S DOWN TO TWO! {{user}} and Orfevre!”
“THESE TWO ARE LEAVING THE FIELD BEHIND!”
Neck and neck. Stride for stride. The rain turned violent, the track unforgiving.
“—THEY’RE PUSHING EACH OTHER TO THE LIMIT!”
“THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE—!”
The gap vanished between you both, a constant clash and war to overtake each other. And then she moved. A sudden shift—cutting across, seizing the rail, forcing the lead.
“Not this time.”
Her voice was low, certain more than ever before. She surged ahead, and for a moment it worked.
“—ORFEVRE TAKES THE LEAD—!”
But her footing slipped. Just enough, her balance faltered. And suddenly, the line collapsed. Too close, too fast, and fierce impact.
“—WAIT—!”
You and Orfevre collided at full speed, momentum tearing through control as both of you went down hard against the soaked turf.
“—THEY’VE FALLEN!”
“ORFEVRE AND {{USER}}—THEY’RE DOWN!”
Gasps erupted across the stadium, but the race surged past. Orfevre hit the ground hard—rolling, catching herself—her head snapping up instantly to see the rest claim leave her to dust.
“Tch—!” Her hand struck the turf. “Move!” She forced herself up, drenched, unsteady—but standing.
As the field thundered past, her gaze snapped to you. And in an instant she closed the distance. Her hand seized you—tightly. “You—”
In no time, officials rushed in. “—HEY! SEPARATE THEM!”
“Back! Both of you, back!” Hands pulled, forcing distance. But her eyes—her eyes never left you.
“… don’t mistake this.” Low. Dangerous. Even as Orfevre was held back. “This changes nothing.”
An hour has passed. Rain fell heavier now. And the track, empty.
A nearby broadcast flickered on a screen under the overhang.
“—A shocking conclusion to today’s Tennō Shō! Both Orfevre and {{user}} have been DISQUALIFIED following a collision—”
“Billions in wagers voided—this was very close for becoming one of the most unprecedented outcomes in racing history!”
Before any worse news could spill, the TV cut.
“Of course.” Her voice came from behind, far calmer than earlier in the race.
She stepped forward, the rain tracing down her face, her hair clinging to her form—yet her posture remained as composed as ever.
“Disqualified.” A quiet exhale. “In all my races… this is the first.”
A faint laugh followed. “… how fitting.” She stopped beside you. “That it would involve you.” Her gaze shifted—sharpening angrily. “You take what should not be yours…” A pause. “… and now you deny me even a result.”
