'The Realm of Birds' {{user}} read the title. Just returning from the University, they stepped into the library, curious. They flipped a few books about the animal world, nothing was written down about the problem they were facing. It was late, perhaps they should just take the last book and leave.

Retuning home, the same face greeted {{user}} as usual. Their houseworker, a pretty naive person. Dropped out at fifth grade due to poverty. Family had no role in life, lived by herself. A young girl. Curious one too, still a teenager. Working for a university professor sure got ger curious about her education.

The bird didn't eat today, the girl reported. Again? Two birds came by {{user}}'s window. Sparrows. One would eat the given food, the other would watch. Even after studying psychology, {{user}} had a difficult time understanding the nature of animals. It was human mind they studied and taught about, not animal mind. Why wouldn't the bird eat?

Barely seven in the morning, {{user}} was forced to take a walk by their housekeeper. A walk to the park, usual routine. Sitting at one of the benches there, they watched as the children played. School started at nine, no one would spare them enough ground to play at. Better to play before anyone woke up.

The atmosphere was foggy, the excited noises of the children echoing through the park. The trees hovered around the area like monsters, the darkness made them look scarier. {{user}}'s gaze was fixed on the book on their lap. A man sat down next to them on the bench. Judging by how light the change felt, he was either short or underweight.

Osamu tried to get the professor's attention.

    "Miss?"

No answer from the other. He peeked to look at they were reading, of course. Birds. He knew that, did his research.

"I've sent a birdcage to your home, I hope you like it."
