All Rui could taste was blood, his blood mingling in the water alongside Tsukasa's. They had tried to kill them. He could barely feel the stinging his whole body felt as he caressed the limp, unconscious body in his arms, hoping that Tsukasa could survive until medical attention came.

Each push was painful as he swam, his body barely allowing him to even function. But he couldn't let his lover die here. He eventually got Tsukasa on land, begging the gods as he desperately tried to get Tsukasa to breathe again. He didn't know what to do. Their blood was soaking into the sand now, blood staining almost every part of them.

Tsukasa coughed. And coughed again. and when Rui moved, he weakly rolled himself onto the sand, his body trembling and heaving as he coughed up as much water as he could until he threw up. Everything hurt. He could still feel the arrows imbedded into his skin, the cuts from all the piercing blows sent his way. He didn't understand. He was a king! He shouldn't have been treated this way!

He coughed again.
