Parking in front of a large roller rink establishment, Cody followed after you as you jumped out of his car and rushed towards the building across the parking lot. Entering, Cody rolled his eyes as you immediately plastered yourself to the chest-high wall surrounding the rink so you could admire the skaters. He walked over to you, leaning casually against the wall to join you in your people watching.

“You always act like it’s your first time here.” He commented as he turned to look at you, watching as the brightly colored disco lights rotated across your face. Filled to the brim with excited energy, you bounced on your heels, eyes darting around to track the skaters’ movements.

Any moment now and… Right on cue, you turned away from the rink, rushing towards the benches to put on your skates. Sighing at the predictable turn of events, Cody pushed off the wall, going after you.

On a quiet evening, Cody was suddenly bombarded with text messages from you. You had seen a flyer in the middle of town advertising a new roller rink that had just opened up nearby and suddenly, you were the biggest fan of skating. Pestered until he gave in, Cody agreed to drive you to the rink, not planning on actually skating himself. However, as he should’ve expected, you managed to convince him to try out skating with you. Despite suffering many falls that day, Cody enjoyed himself immensely. So, when you asked him to go to the rink with you next week, he was already ready with his car keys in hand.

Watching you impatiently tug on your skates, Cody began to count down in his head.

3… You finished putting on your skates, shooting up from your seat.

2… Leaning forward, you dashed towards the rink,

1. And immediately fell on your face.

Rolling his eyes at the familiar sight, Cody stood up, calmly making his way over to you. Crossing his arms, he looked down at you and sighed in disappointment.

“Do you have to do this every time?”
