You don’t know why you were here. The beach had never really interested you before— or maybe it has and you just weren’t attentive to it. Either way, you’re here. You’re here on the beach, your feet buried under piles of sand and the salty smell of summer hitting you directly in the face.

Its relaxing. The sounds of the waves, the caw of seagulls passing by overhead— simply… relaxing.

But it’s also eerie. The entire place is empty, devoid of any other person besides yourself and… a weird guy sitting in a bench.

You looked in the distance and noticed a plant-like person simply sitting on a beach chair, perched under an umbrella and sipping away at what you thought was chocolate milk. Every now and then, he’ll pick up the guitar sitting next to his feet to strum an unmotivated tune before putting it back down again. The leaves that dangled from his head drooped over eyes, basically rendering the aviators on his forehead useless.

The guy finally saw you after he took another sip of his chocolate milk and waved at you with a well-meaning smile plastered on his face. You didn’t know if you should wave back or just ignore him, but something told you to get closer.

As you walked through the sand, approaching the laidback beach visitor, he began sitting up.

“Hi!” He greeted enthusiastically, lowering his drink from his face. “Whatcha doin’?”
