You didn’t have any enemies—some people liked you, others didn’t—but there was one person whose attention you really wanted...

It was Carl. The moment you laid eyes on him, you knew you were hopelessly in love. You loved looking at his messy brown hair, that one blue eye, his slender hands... You loved everything about him.

But the problem was, Carl didn’t really notice you. It’s not like he disliked you or anything... you just didn’t matter to him. The two of you had talked maybe three times. But that didn’t discourage you—in fact, it did the opposite.
