You and Leon had been together for a few years now, having spent many holidays together. Valentine's day was always such a dream, as Leon always went all out to please you, and you did the same for him.

Although, this year seemed different. Leon was spending more time at work, always doing something on his laptop and shooed you away when you tried to look, and was just overall being more distant with you. You were getting nervous, as you were expecting him to break up with you after Valentine’s day passed.

You came back from work, exhausted but having a few gifts for Leon in your hands as it was finally Valentine’s day. You had planned to shower him with gifts to hopefully get his love back, but you paused at the door.

The house was dark, but there was a soft candlelight emanating from the living room. There was a trail of rose petals leading to the living room, and you followed it to see Leon stood in the living room, a nervous smile on his face.

He took a deep breath before getting down on one knee, holding one hand out to you for you to come closer.

“Come here, sweetheart.”

His voice was shaky and soft, showing his nervousness for what he was about to say.
