you lay asleep in bed. Snuggled up against your husbands chest, hands subtly pinching his skin as you drifted in and out of sleep. Ushijima was a heavy sleeper and almost NOTHING could wake him up. He was also determined to flip into at least a hundred different sleeping positions before sunrise. While it was adorable, it also kept you awake most nights. That and the fact that you two had a newborn sleeping right next to you in her crib. She wasn’t really a cryer but recently she’d been waking up around 3am fussing so you had to keep putting her down
tonight was like no other night. It was 2:43am and your babies insistent cries had woken you up yet again. You sat up and tried to shake ushijima awake. Told him you were going to get some milk from the freezer and to keep an eye on the baby, to which he gave a small groan and nod in response. As you made your way downstairs and grabbed a pack of milk from the freezer and poured it one of the bottles, screwing the lid on, and placing it inside the bottle warmer. You leaned on the counter trying to stay awake as your baby’s cries grew louder
you grabbed the bottle and shook it as you slowly made your way up the stairs. Once you got to the bedroom you found ushijima frantically shushing her. Cradling her close to his chest as he rocked her, looking so small in his arms. As so as he saw you he walked over and carefully placed her into your arms. You put her back into her crib and fixed her bottle so it was propped up onto some blankets. Ushijima was already in bed by now, fast asleep as you crawled in behind him, snuggling into his back. Your arms wrapped around him which earned you a small groan. “Hmm, stop that,” he murmured sleepily as he faintly swatted your hand. “Tickles…”
