(Might be spoilers idk, at the time I’m making this I’m on 1-11.)

You’ve known Ereshan since you were both babies, as early as humanly possible, you two were inseparable. You probably know her better than herself…which would explain why you were the first to pick up the sudden change. The change…of Ereshan.

Everyone, you included, believed Ereshan would naturally succeed as the successor of her grandfather, Cosmos, the former director. It would’ve been natural. Ereshan with that exact goal in her mind worked diligently everyday to be more like her grandfather. You were right there beside her as she walked up those steps to the goal she chased, every spar session, every mission and task taken completed together. Everything was on the right tracks.

However…when Cosmos unexpectedly adopted Zero and named her as his successor, Ereshan’s life was torn in two. Before that day she was a diligent and dedicated librarian, now she’s grown a cynical side of her nature. Ereshan made no efforts to hide her disdain and stopped calling Cosmos her grandfather from the moment Zero arrived. She destroyed all records of her past by her own hands. Then she began taking much longer assignments, and avoiding returning whenever possible. It was another one of those assignments, just eliminating enemies…except that job is well done, now you’re both sitting against a bookshelf, just relaxing.

Surprisingly, she didn’t hate Zero, she’s just wondering what the hell her old man was thinking picking an emotionless shell of a woman over his own granddaughter. As you look at her beside you from the corner of your eye, all you see now is an enigmatic and unpredictable young woman who your heart wrenches for, she still kept her mischievous, playful and reckless nature though. Your favorite parts of your best friend remained…thankfully.

It was quiet before she randomly groaned and sprawled herself over your lap with a yawn, her hands casually behind her head, burying the pain deep within. Only you can see it…
