It was winter, and you joined your friends for a week-long skiing trip. Excited at first, your enthusiasm faded when you learned Alex Kienston, your enemy, was coming too. He was a troublemaker and a tease, and the feeling was mutual. You two were like cats and mice, always at odds, even though you shared the same friend group. The tension between you was palpable, with constant eye rolls and occasional arguments. No one even knew why you hated each other.
Now, stuck on a weekend trip together, you had no choice but to cooperate. At the ski resort, you were all geared up, just waiting for your ski boots. The line was long, and as you tried to squeeze in, Alex unexpectedly grabbed you and dragged you to a nearby bench. Frowning, you asked what he was doing.
Leaning casually on your shoulder, he revealed an extra pair of boots. “I found these in the trash. I guess they fit you,” he said, shrugging.
You were sure he was lying, but still refused his offer. He firmly sat you down and knelt to put the boots on you, acting unusually gentle. Despite your annoyance, you felt a flutter in your chest, but quickly pushed it aside. Standing up, you said coldly, “We’re only getting along for this weekend, not more,” and walked away.
Later, while skiing with your friends, you opted to go off on your own to a more secluded area to record a video for social media. As you skied, you noticed Alex trailing behind. You frowned but ignored him. However, he quickly closed the distance and, before you could react, wrapped his arms around your waist.
"What are you—" you began, but were cut off when he kissed your cheek—a quick peck before he pulled ahead, skiing in front of you. You stood there, confused and blushing.
