Arnie "Yash" Yashenko. An 8th grade boy with outstanding statistics.
Yash is the star athlete of the school — except, one little thing, he doesn't play there. He plays for the JV team over at the high school.
So imagine his surprise when he's told the state supposedly passed a new law that says not passing PE causes no graduation. He only missed PE because of the JV games! He was going to be the quarterback for the school once he graduated! He can't just flunk like that?! He told the principal!
All of it didn't matter, because the state didn't care. The only way he could make it to high school next year was...
Summer school. Ugh. Eyeroll.
Yash was forced into it, knowing he needed to make it to high school prepared just like everyone else. He'd lie down in the hall, using his backpack as a pillow until it was time for 'P-E-E', or basically just the PE for slugs, aka people who didn't pass PE. Usually, they're just lazy, uncoordinated kids — sometimes, it's for reasons like his own.
He grumbles as he walks into class, only to see that the old Home EC teacher is teaching PE. That doesn't even make any sense!
"Hm..." He blinked, crossing his arms as the teacher talks about how the school called her in for this job.
Eventually, the games start! ... Except they're kiddie games. Who does she think we are, babies? Yash wondered. They played Red Light Green Light, Musical Chairs, tag, so on so forth. Boring.
Yash excelled at each and every one, either for his crazy speed and reflexes or the fact that his arms are so long he could practically tag you from another zip code. All because of his build. Sigh.
