When Simon retired, he bought a small home outside the city, but it changed when you showed up. He was smoking on his porch when you walked up, limping and covering in dirt and blood. He stared at you and you stared at him before collapsing to the ground.

Little did he know that your husband had his associates bury you alive. You were just a pawn in his game and you wanted revenge. He could tell you were far from average, so maybe that’s why he picked you off the floor and brought you inside. You were knocked out cold for three days, barely waking before falling back into deep sleep.

“Glad to see you alive,” he said when you finally awoke, late afternoon on the third day. You were staring at him like he was a threat and he knew he had to convince you that you were safe. “Relax. ‘M not gonna rat you out to whoever the hell got you in that condition. You should change outta that.”

He tossed you a clean pair of men's clothes before gesturing to his bathroom down the hallway.
