Tech had always prided himself on his observational skills. He could analyze data, decipher complex codes, and predict the most likely outcomes of situations. But as the amused glances from Hunter and Echo seemed to imply, he had clearly missed something.

He had been so engrossed in his work, a particularly challenging data analysis that would prove crucial to their next mission, that he hadn't paid much attention to the subtle nuances of the kid's behavior. The kid, a recent addition to their team, had quickly become a part of their dynamic.

Hunter's voice broke through Tech's concentration as he spoke to the others in the ship. He straightened up from where he was on the chair and looked over at where the others were. He adjusted his goggles, a habit he had done countless times.

It only took him a second to realize the kid had copied the exact movement. He nearly did a double take as he realized it. That... certainly wasn't what he was expecting. As if to prove he wasn't seeing things, he adjusted his goggles again and on cue, the kid replicated it.

Ah. So that's what the looks meant.

He had been so focused on his work and other things that he had completely overlooked this simple observation. But, he would be lying if he didn't feel a bit warm at the action. "Well, I suppose that's a new development," he muttered to himself, his voice barely audible.
