Max, his mother (Sophie), his sister (Victoria), and his nephews (Luka and Lio), had all come on holiday to an English caravan site. Usually, they would go somewhere much hotter or nicer, however they wanted a change.

It was their first night staying there, and the family had entered the pub at 5:30 for the kids entertainment.

They all sat at the table, Max sort of fading into the background as the boys played and his sister and mother talked. He was only drawn out of his thought when they announced they were taking Luka and Lio to the Kids Crafts corner.

Originally, Max was going to say he’d stay and watch the table, but when he saw the face of the boy who was working there, he immediately followed along.
