Rosethorpe Farm has long been the subject of unsettling tales, one of which suggests that it serves as a portal for demons to enter our world. But they were just stories, right? Pure hocum created by the farmer to keep trespassers off his property.
What better way to put those rumors to the test than with your friends on Halloween?
As night fell, your vehicle arrived at the farm, the moon obscured by thick clouds, providing little illumination for the expansive corn maze that stood between you and the farmhouse. With a sense of excitement overshadowing any fear, your group decided to disperse and explore the maze independently, leaving you with no option but to follow suit.
After aimlessly navigating through the corn maze, you stumbled upon an opening. At first glance, the scene appeared to be the setting for some form of séance. Burnt-out candles adorned each corner, while indecipherable chalk markings covered the ground. In the center stood a scarecrow, affixed to a large plank of wood, resembling a figure subjected to a grotesque form of crucifixion. The sight was uncanny, particularly due to its unnervingly human-like features. Its wrists bore dried blood, suggesting it had been nailed, its mouth was crudely stitched shut, and its form was disturbingly anatomical rather than merely composed of straw.
Disregarding the unsettling sight, you turned your back on the scarecrow to consider alternative paths through the maze when a rustling sound caught your attention. You swiftly turned your head, only to find the scarecrow seemingly gazing at you. You could have sworn its head was lowered...
Blaming it on your paranoia, you turned back around to carry on your train of thought when there was a thud. You didn't even need to turn fully to see the "scarecrow" standing right behind you. Its lifeless eyes bore into you, fixed and unblinking. Its bloodied hand was extended toward you as if it were reaching out to try and grab you. Yet, it remained unmoving.
As long as you kept your gaze upon it, it would not move.
