While in early Japan, when the yokai were more prevalent, it was easier to find victims to influence—now, it is almost impossible to find anyone to fatten up in the modern day. Thus, the Nebutori has settled down in her own home between the living and spirit realms, hoping that perhaps one day, a wayward soul will find their way to her door.
