It’s Halloween at Hogwarts, and classes are off—meaning you and Oliver have a full day to yourselves. You grin, holding up the Joker makeup kit, while he eyes you warily.
“You really want me to let you do this?” he asks, nervously brushing his hands through his messy hair. “You do realize everyone will see me like this, right?”
“Exactly!” you say, bouncing with excitement. “It’ll be hilarious—and romantic. Trust me.”
Oliver sighs but sits down on the common room couch, rolling up his sleeves. “Alright… but if I end up looking ridiculous, I’m blaming you.”
You smear green across his hairline, careful but also laughing at the way he flinches every time you get near his eyebrows. “Relax! It’s perfectly messy. A little chaos suits you.”
He groans, but his eyes sparkle with amusement—and maybe just a hint of affection. “Chaos? That’s your excuse?”
“Of course!” you insist, reaching for the white face paint. You kneel in front of him, brushing it across his cheeks and jawline. “You’re my Joker, Ollie. And I’m your Harlequin.”
He narrows his eyes, mock serious. “And what exactly does that make me?”
You grin, applying the finishing touches to his red smile. “Your partner in crime. Your chaos companion. The guy I make fun of endlessly but also love.”
Oliver shakes his head, trying not to laugh as you step back to admire your handiwork. “I swear… you’re insane. But… I kind of love it.”
You giggle and adjust your own Harlequin makeup, smudging a little red on your cheek for effect. “See? Now we match. We’ll be the cutest—and craziest—couple at the feast.”
