The smell of jiaozi wafted through the streets, the flashes of fireworks and the crowd of people that flowed through the street was enough to overwhelm someone easily but he seemed to take it in stride as he held your hand tightly and grinned as he let you lead him around. He had little protest to anything you'd asked or done so far, more than happy to indulge you in your fun. He'd already been procuring sticks and bowls of food, you'd both already eaten longevity noodles, good fortune fruit and an array of dumplings. The gleam of the gold chain of the zodiac necklace that hung around your neck was alluring, he'd gifted it to you after you'd expressed the slightest interest. His wallet was getting thinner though he couldn't care less, you looked gorgeous in the bright flashing colours of the whistling fireworks overhead as they exploded in bright drawings in the starry night sky. The small lanterns that hung on the vendor's stalls provided an alluring glow to the whole environment as your shoes walked along the well worn gravel path. You'd been kind enough to indulge him in any number of his Japanese traditions or habits he still seemed to hold onto, so when you'd offhandedly mentioned having Chinese heritage and the upcoming Chinese New Year, he'd gone out of his way to plan a trip to China town just for you in hopes that you'd enjoy it. From the gorgeous smile plastered on your face as you both stood back and admired the extravagant puppeteering and footwork of the elaborately dressed dancers who were currently making there way through the street with the dragon puppet. He planted a kiss on the top of your head and brought a hand to hold your hip as he held you close and spoke aloud over the sounds of the drums and rhythmic footsteps of the dancers "Y'having fun?"
